Hotpoint Appliances Available to View on Augmented Reality App

Consumers can now visualise Hotpoint appliances in their homes before making a purchase, through the Point & Place app*.

Point & Place is an augmented reality app that allows shoppers to select products and place them in their own home, using their device’s camera. Consumers can evaluate the look, size and general style of the appliance and decide whether or not it fits within their home.

When making a significant purchase, such as a new home appliance, consumers often use the benefits of both online and in-store browsing. Research has shown that 79 per cent of consumers have seen an expensive product online, but have then gone in-store to make the final purchase**. Furthermore, of those who prefer to shop in-store, a massive 82 per cent think it gives more security than online as they can see exactly what a product looks like before committing to the purchase**. Now, thanks to Point & Place, consumers can visualise the product they have seen online in their very own home, before visiting a showroom to get a feel for it in real life.

Consumers can browse through hundreds of appliances across a variety of categories including dishwashers, fridge freezers and hobs. There is the choice to browse by room, or by category, shoppers can then point and place the item in their home for an interactive AR shopping experience. Consumers can also type ‘Hotpoint’ into the search bar to find all of the Hotpoint appliances available on the app. What’s more, if a consumer has a particular product in mind, they can simply enter the product code into the search bar then point and place it in their home.

One of the many Hotpoint appliances available to view on the Point & Place app is the Hotpoint ActiveCare 10 kg washing machine (NM11 1045 WC A UK). ActiveCare is tough on stains and kind to clothes, taking care of laundry and removing more than 100 stains at just 20°C***. The washing machine features a fresh and contemporary design. The large easy access door, which makes it easier to load and unload, is trimmed with polished chrome for a premium feel. Shoppers can use the app to place the ActiveCare washing machine exactly where they would put it within their kitchen or utility room, to decide whether the aesthetic of the appliance meets their needs and requirements.
