As Apartment Therapy states in this blog post, artwork can not only completely transform the look of your home, but it can also be created out of anything you want, from wallpaper to magazine pages. The way you display your art is also important as art can draw attention to certain areas, fill up empty spaces or even become a focal piece. Whereas the most typical way to display art is to hang it in a space on the wall, in this blog post, Apartment Therapy has some other, more creative ideas on how to display your art in a more unique way.
If you have a lot of art and not enough wall space to hang it, there’s nothing preventing you from overlapping your pieces. You can do this by using hooks, a ledge, or photo rail, however this composition works best with lightweight artwork. When arranged properly, this layered look won’t seem too cluttered and goes especially well with maximalist interiors. This technique can also apply to furniture. Most of the time, people will hang artwork around their furniture, but for a more visually interesting look, don’t be afraid to tuck your artwork behind furniture. Apartment Therapy uses a console table as an example, and painter, Laura Dargan explains that she has done this so that the painting doesn’t overwhelm the space and instead melts into the console table.
Artwork doesn’t have to be hung on the wall. If you’re renting and can’t hang art on the walls, or maybe you don’t want to risk marking the paint, Apartment Therapy suggests simply leaning your paintings against the walls! This ensures that you can still display art without risking damaging the paint and this technique also fits in well with a boho look! As Apartment Therapy demonstrates, 3D artwork can also look great when hung over railings, especially when partnered with some houseplants, making the most out of that vertical space.
Speaking about making the most of a vertical space, why not try a floor-to-ceiling gallery wall? Not only does this fit perfectly with maximalism, but it also ensures that your gallery wall makes an impact. You could also try this style around a door frame or threshold (which is stunning around an archway!). Putting art in the corners of the room is another great way to bring life to an unused space. This could be a corner that leads from one room to the next, creating a flow between them, or even a way to make the paintings look more dynamic. And again, the layered effect also works well here!

Apartment Therapy even suggests hanging artwork on your windows if you can do so without sacrificing too much natural light. Create an aesthetically pleasing space by placing it at the intersection of the windowpanes. If your windows aren’t big enough then try hanging it on the glass doors of a bookcase instead, or even a mirror!

Create Perfect – Our top six must-have’s for your home this Halloween
Halloween is just around the corner so, if you haven’t done so already, now is the perfect time to get your home ready for the spooky season! This blog post by Create Perfect shares six stunning Halloween decorations for your home so, if you’re on the lookout for stylish seasonal decorations, then look no further!
It wouldn’t be autumn decorating without a beautiful wreath filled with vibrant autumn leaves! Create Perfect has chosen a lovely wreath from Lights4Fun which has a great selection of leaves entwined onto a natural twig. This wreath is perfect for adding a seasonal touch to your front door, and Create Perfect even suggests wrapping some lights within the foliage for an even more eye-catching effect at night!
When decorating for the upcoming spooky season, not only do you want your house to look the part, but making it smell autumnal will enhance the effect of your decorations. As Create Perfect states in this blog post, smells are powerful and can trigger certain memories. Scent is also what may impact your guests the moment they enter your house, so try out some autumnal themed candles, incense sticks or air fresheners to really bring out this effect. Create Perfect recommends the Chloe Pumpkin Spice Soy Wax Candle by Delilah, which has aromas of nutmeg, orange and caramel for the perfect autumnal scent.
Of course, if you’re planning on having any dinner parties over autumn, you’ll want a lovely autumnal set up to match! Create Perfect has some great suggestions for seasonal table décor, including some bowls from Abode Living, pumpkin staple pieces from Truffle Tablescapes and some velvet Halloween crackers by From Sunday’s Daughter!

Fresh Design Blog – Instagram Home Decor Trends To Follow
Not only is Instagram filled with new trends to try out and ideas to take inspiration from, but if you have an Instagram account dedicated to interior design, keeping up with the latest trends can help boost your followers and engagement. To update yourself on these trends, check out this blog post by Fresh Design Blog, which summarises the latest styles to look out for.
Candles and string lights, both indoors and outdoors, are great for creating a cosy atmosphere. So, it’s no wonder that, according to Fresh Design Blog, they have also become a popular interior design trend on Instagram, both within homes and commercial locations such as restaurants.
There are also a lot of natural interior design elements on Instagram’s feed, such as natural materials, earthy colour schemes, and most of all, house plants. From large houseplants to climbing vines, plants are perfect for making your interior feel like a calming sanctuary. They are also great for introducing a pop of colour to an otherwise neutral room.
Gold framed mirrors have also become an Instagram interior design trend, not only because they are stylish and add a touch of class to your interior, but also because they are ideal for taking selfies!
Eye-catching, statement wallpaper is popular among interior design lovers too, with its affordability and ability to make certain areas of the room really pop. One of the most popular wallpaper styles seen on Instagram are geometric wall murals, which are ideal for that symmetrical look. Speaking of eye-catching walls, a gallery wall or featured wall has been a staple in interior design for years and, according to Fresh Design Blog, there are currently nearly one million Instagram posts for this trend. Another art trend that has rocked social media is Macramé art, a textile art hanger piece which uses knotting to form a pattern. According to Fresh Design Blog, this is the latest trend on Instagram, both for artists who create Macramé art and interior designers who are using it. Macramé art can be calming, especially with its hypnotic, intricate knots and designs which can make your space more relaxed.
