House Beautiful – Christmas door decorations: how to decorate your front door for Christmas

Think you’ve got loads of time to start planning your festive décor this year? Well you might be surprised to hear that today marks just five weeks until Christmas Day! When it comes to getting our homes ready for Christmas, exterior decorations can often be an afterthought, while the main focus tends to be on things like hanging baubles on the Christmas tree or adorning the fireplace with stockings. In this article, House Beautiful shows us just how easy it is to incorporate your front door into your festive decorating routine, providing simple ideas that are sure to make your house the envy of your neighbours!

Your front door is likely to be one of the first things visitors will see as they enter your home and, as a result, it’s important that it reflects your style and personality, particularly when it comes to seasonal décor. With tips including purchasing a Christmas-themed doormat to provide a festive welcome to visitors, decorating a path or driveway with pre-lit Christmas trees and sprucing up your front porch with seasonal plant pots, this article provides a plethora of ideas that are guaranteed to wow your neighbours. If you’re looking to add a more extravagant touch, House Beautiful suggests hanging a giant bow on your front door, tied up to make it look like a present (pictured below).

Our favourite tip from the article is to place a small pot grown Christmas tree on your porch, decorated with solar fairy lights or lanterns for the ultimate festive statement. Whatever your chosen theme or decorating style may be, make sure you don’t neglect your front door when getting your home ready for Christmas this year, and be sure to let us know which of the ideas from this article you will be recreating this festive season!

YourHomeStyle – The best homeware gift ideas for Christmas 2020

Sorry in advance for the Christmas overload, but both of our favourite articles this week are festive themed! We may be getting a bit too excited too early, but who can blame us, it seems everyone is trying to spread the Christmas cheer earlier this year! For those of us that are looking to get into the festive spirit, YourHomeStyle has created a dedicated Christmas section on their website, which is perfect for filling all of our festive inspiration needs.

One particular article that caught our eye showcases the best homeware gift ideas. The article is perfect for any house proud friends and includes a variety of ideas from books and art prints to mugs and coasters. If you have a DIY enthusiast in your life, the article recommends The Artist Box from Annie Sloan. It contains chalk paint and wax and is perfect for an upcycling project.

We love the retro radio that is included in the article (there’s a hint if any of our friends and families are reading this!) the white and gold colouring is super stylish and we love the idea of bringing some retro chic into our homes. If you’re looking for something a little more quirky to completely surprise a loved one, then the Giraffe Table Lamp is sure to fit the bill. YourHomeStyle previously reported that Safari Style is a top trend for winter 2020 and the Giraffe Table Lamp fits this perfectly.

With online Christmas shopping being our main option at the moment, we find using gift guides extremely helpful. It can be difficult to feel inspired when you aren’t in a physical shop, so we’re glad articles like this are there to save us when we’re in need of ideas!
