Last week, we were lucky enough to attend the Ideal Home Show 2022 at Olympia London. The Ideal Home Show is the UK’s biggest and longest-running home event, showcasing a range of innovative products and technology, inspiring ideas and on-trend solutions, while bringing together over 600 brands and a packed schedule of talks from many of the industry’s top experts.
We were immediately drawn to the Conker Living area of the Show Village and loved exploring the pods and learning more about what they had to offer. The pods can be used for whatever your imagination desires, from a home office to a holiday home. We also headed inside the two-storey Future Living Home, which focused on innovative home technology, predicted future interior trends and ways to make your home more sustainable and energy efficient.

The Future Living Home was beautifully decorated inside. The furniture and accessories were purchased from eBay and perfectly styled by a team of interior designers from Owl Design. We gathered heaps of inspiration that we can’t wait to put to good use when decorating our own spaces.

Talking of interior design inspiration, we really enjoyed Good Homes magazine’s room sets. The sets were split into three areas: the Updated Heritage living room, the Wellness Retreat bathroom and a Flexible Living space, all of which were stunningly decorated and accessorised!
We had a great time exploring everything that was on offer and wandering around the different areas of the show, including home renovation, health and wellbeing, style and housewares. The Show Gardens were well-worth a visit, and we loved the Breeze House stand, which featured a range of its luxury thatched garden buildings that are perfect for entertaining and relaxing during the summer months! Another highlight for us was visiting the ITV Selfie Station, which featured pop-up TV sets from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and Love Island.

Our tickets to the Ideal Home Show also granted us entry to the Eat & Drink Festival, which is the UK’s largest indoor food festival. It’s safe to say we thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the many stands, which featured a combination of street food, drinks, artisan produce and sweet treats!
We were also lucky enough to watch a couple of live demonstrations on the Eat & Drink Stage. Firstly, we saw gardener Anna Greenland cook a selection of recipes from her new book, including a nettle soup and a seasonal rhubarb drink. Anna also shared some helpful tips on growing food organically at home. We then saw Michelin-Starred chef, Chris Harrod, take the stage, where he cooked a delicious asparagus dish, complete with a variety of ingredients that he had foraged and picked himself! It was great to see the food being cooked live on-stage and we took home some fantastic tips that we’ll certainly be using in the kitchen going forward too.

We were spoilt for choice when it came to selecting a spot to stop for lunch, and we ended up opting for some delicious Greek Souvlakis from Souvlaki Pro’s stand. We couldn’t leave the Eat & Drink Festival without buying some freshly baked cookies from the Chocolate Dino Company, and we also treated ourselves to some delicious pick-n-mix fudge too!
We had a fantastic time at the Ideal Home Show 2022 and we hope to attend next year to learn more about the latest interiors trends, up-and-coming products and inspiring ideas for the home.
