Retra Meets Chinese Delegation

retra, the association for independent electrical retailers, has gone global! They have been building bridges with a selection of representatives from the Chinese government. A delegation from a variety of Chinese government organisations recently visited retra to discuss the electrical retailing industry, particularly focusing on the services retra provides for its members, and how it develops and manages relationships between retailers, manufacturers and other parties. Chief Executive of retra, Bryan Lovewell, and Support and Development Executive, Mike Floodgate, were host to: Hu Beizi – Director Engineer of Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission Zhang Jinyao – Senior Engineer of Zhejiang Radio Communication Province Information Industry Department, Ningbo Radio Management Office Yang Fang – Deputy Director, Senior Engineer of Zhejiang Province Information Industry Department, Jinhua Radio Management Office Ping Feng – Deputy Director, Senior Engineer of Zhejiang Province Information Industry Department, Shaoxin Radio Management Office In the Zhejiang Province, the role of the delegates is to help the Chinese government manage the users of the local radio and television frequency, and promote radio-communication products locally and internationally. Bryan Lovewell, Chief Executive, retra said: “Meeting the Chinese delegation was an interesting opportunity to find out more about how electrical retailing works in the largest country in the world. China has a population of over 1 billion people, while Zhejiang Province’s is over 47 million; a prospective retail market that is considerably bigger than ours! “I believe that the discussions were mutually beneficial as it gave the delegation an outline of what retra does for its members, and ideas for how they could help independent retailers in China. We all really enjoyed the meeting and the chance to develop a new international relationship; hopefully we will be able to pay them a return visit soon!” For more information about retra, please call 01234 269110, email retra@retra.co.uk or visit www.retra.co.uk Ends.
