This year’s Domestic and General Retailer of the Year Awards saw a fantastic result for retra members, with three receiving top honours.
The Retailer of the Year awards are based on the results of the UK’s biggest survey of independent electrical retailers completed by consumers. Now in their 11th year, the awards recognise the best independent retailers that truly focus on customer experience and care.
retra member winners at the awards were:
- Retailer of the Year, Winner Aclands Radio & Television, Somerset
- Retailer of the Year, Runner Up Hughes Electrical
- Internet Retailer of the Year, Winner Crampton & Moore, Sheffield
Domestic & General organise the study that forms the basis of the awards. Over 250,000 surveys are sent out every year to consumers who have purchased goods from independent electrical retailers, both in-store and online. The survey for in-store purchases focuses on four sections of the retail experience: demonstration, courtesy, product knowledge and appearance. For online consumers, the focus is appearance and navigation of site, convenience of delivery and product information.
Bryan Lovewell, Chief Executive of retra, says: “We are very proud to see retra members doing so well at the D&G Retailer of the Year Awards. Customer service is a vital part of successful retailing, and is something that really does make independents stand out against the larger chain stores. It is great to see the hard work of those in the sector recognised and we would like to congratulate them all.”
