The fifth annual National Quiet Day will take place on Wednesday 9th September 2020.
National Quiet Day takes place on the second Wednesday of September each year and encourages people to seek sanctuary in silence. National Quiet Day also raises awareness of the issue that noise has a substantial effect on our wellbeing and mental health.
You might not be able to escape from noise for the whole day, but take the opportunity on National Quiet Day to let a little calm and tranquillity into your life, if only for a moment. The benefits of taking some quiet time come in many forms, from lowering stress levels to unleashing creativity and enhancing your senses and awareness of the world around you.
Whether you take part in a virtual yoga class or turn off your television in favour of reading a new book, capture how you enjoyed some quiet time and encourage others to follow in your footsteps by sharing your experience on social media with the awareness day hashtag #NationalQuietDay.
