KBBG Annual Members' Meeting 2022

Success For Eighth KBBG Annual Members’ Meeting

The Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), part of DER KREIS, Europe’s leading kitchen and bathroom buying group, hosted its eighth Annual Members’ Meeting on Monday 13th June 2022.

The event was sponsored by appliance manufacturer, De Dietrich, and took place at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry. The MTC is an independent Research & Technology Organisation and works to develop and prove advanced manufacturing processes and technologies. The venue not only offered plenty of space for members and suppliers of the buying group to network, but also allocated an area for suppliers to showcase their products and services.

As well as providing remarkable conference facilities, the MTC tied in very well with the theme for this year’s conference which was ‘how is technology changing the business landscape, and what it means for you?’. The theme was also supported by an impressive selection of engaging speakers.

KBBG Managing Director, Bill Miller opened the meeting by announcing that DER KREIS has grown substantially across Europe despite the challenging past few years. Bill then handed the stage to Vanessa Brady OBE, Founder of Society of British and International Design, who gave an informative look into how kitchen specialists and architects can work together. Guests also heard from the event sponsor Michael Boland, De Dietrich, for an overview of the brand’s history and product line-up, which is available to KBBG members.

Following this, Steve Nesbitt, Chief Technologist of the MTC, gave an eye-opening presentation on Net Zero 2050 and the future of construction. In the afternoon, Graeme Wilson from Lead Wolf gave KBBG members and suppliers an exciting first look at the upcoming My Kitchen Specialist website, which will be aimed at consumers and benefit both KBBG members and suppliers. The website will be launching soon.

For the first time ever at the KBBG Annual Members’ Meeting, guests were given the opportunity to attend two workshop sessions of their choice in the afternoon. This gave members and suppliers the opportunity to discuss industry and members’ topics in greater depth. The workshops included ‘KBB Services’ by Simon Acres, ‘Lead Wolf – KBB Digital Marketing Platform’ by Graeme Wilson, ‘Putting the Client First and Foremost’ by Darren Taylor and ‘What Part KBB Retailers Will Need to Play in Modular Construction’ by Steve Nesbitt.

The conference concluded with a final word from Bill Miller and his predictions on the economy and how it will affect the KBB industry in the coming months, giving a positive outlook on the year ahead and closing the event on an optimistic note.

Bill Miller, Managing Director, KBBG, says: “Following the success of last year’s meeting, we wanted to exceed the expectations of our members once again with a variety of engaging speakers and workshops along with another exceptional venue. We hope that our guests found the event to be insightful as well as resourceful and were able to benefit from the networking opportunities and on-the-day offers and promotions from suppliers. We thank our event sponsor and the staff at the MTC for such a memorable day and we look forward to next year’s meeting.”
