The Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group Urges Support for Kitchen Design Education

With the Foundation Degree Course in Kitchen Design commencing its third year at Bucks New University, the Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG) has encouraged its members to consider supporting the degree course through The Kitchen Education Trust.

In order to foster a greater level of professionalism within the kitchen industry, the KBBG has urged its members and suppliers to consider supporting the degree course. With the cost of annual tuition fee around £5,000 per student, the group believes the benefit to the industry far outweighs the cost.

As the first wave of students are embarking on their final year, and graduating next summer, the KBBG has asked its members and suppliers to explore how the degree course can benefit their business and the industry as a whole, and encouraged them to consider whether they could help identify a potential student, offer financial support through The Kitchen Education Trust (TKET), or help to raise the profile of the course.

Bill Miller, Managing Director, KBBG, said: “TKET provides the industry with a formal platform to support the degree course, both in terms of raising funds for student scholarship and highlighting the profile of the course, and offers a very exciting opportunity for all kitchen specialists to work together to help create a more knowledgeable and creative industry, and raise professional standards even higher.

“With students taught at the highest level by industry experts, while at the same time raising their own professional standards and learning practical skills, there is no doubt that graduates of the kitchen design degree at Bucks New University would benefit a kitchen retail business.”
