NEW HEAD CHEF BRINGS FRESH TOUCH AND LOCAL FLAVOURS TO THE BRIDGE AT WILTON
Award-winning restaurant ‘The Bridge at Wilton’ is delighted to welcome Paul Kelly as the new head chef, delivering an opportunity to build upon the restaurant’s reputation for fine dining and locally produced flavours.
Paul has nearly 20 years of experience as a chef, and was previously awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand while working for Oscar’s in Lemington Spa, an award he held for three years. His return to Ross on Wye, the birthplace of his children, marks the beginning of an exciting new period for The Bridge. Paul plans to structure the menu around the fresh local produce, leading to a fantastic and exciting dining experience. This brings individuality to The Bridge, and the food will continue to be fresh, delicious, and full of flavour every day of the week.
The Bridge has long been known for its stunning food and elegant dining rooms, and has previously been awarded “West Midlands Restaurant of the Year”, also winning “Flavours of Herefordshire Restaurant of the Year” four years in a row. It even featured in the BBC Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain, and was described by Paddy Burt, Telegraph journalist, as “A riverside seat of Epicurean excellence, illuminated by a light touch”.
The appointment of Paul Kelly also sees the introduction of set priced menus that blend high-quality, mouth-watering food with fantastic value for money.
Proprietor Mike Pritchard said: “I am thrilled to welcome Paul, and incredibly excited about the ideas he has for developing The Bridge. We believe that we are perfectly placed, and this is an ideal time to build and introduce new initiatives. The Bridge is the perfect location for a simple lunch or cosy dinner, and we look forward to more people discovering and enjoying our dining experience.”
Paul Kelly said: “As soon as I first visited The Bridge, I fell in love with it. There is so much potential for development and I am very grateful to be given the chance to do what I have always wanted to do, which is be the head of a kitchen that prides itself on producing top-quality food centred around local produce. I cannot wait to build up my team and get started!”
