Andy Waller joins retra as area representative

retra, the independent radio, electrical and television retailers’ association, is delighted to welcome Andy Waller, as area representative for the North West, Midlands and Wales. He replaces Philip Potter, who has retired after 17 years with the organisation.

Andy may already be a familiar face to some of the members he will be representing having helped many reduce their telecoms overheads while working for Uniworld Communications, the telecoms partner of retra.

He started out as an apprentice at Marconi Defence Systems having been ‘talent spotted’ at college whilst studying for an HNC in Electronic Engineering.  From there he moved into telecommunications in a technical role, but eventually moved into sales when he realised that he preferred people to circuitry and software.

Outside of work, Andy was heavily involved in the Air Cadet Organisation, starting at a young age. He is also a lifelong Arsenal fan and is pleased to be based in the North West, where he will get the chance to see the Gunners in action against all the local Premiership teams.

Andy says: “My contact with retra in my previous role made me fall in love with the organisation. I admire the work they do to support independent retailers and when the chance came to join I jumped at it.

“I cannot wait to get out and meet all the retra members in my area and start working on their behalf.”

Bryan Lovewell, Chairman of retra, says: “I am delighted to welcome Andy to retra. I am sure all the members he represents will be impressed by his enthusiasm and experience and will benefit immensely from his support.”
