RECORD-BREAKING YEAR FOR KBBREVIEW INDUSTRY AWARDS

Organisers of the kbbreview Industry Awards 2011 are celebrating another record-breaking year for entries.
Judges including Johnny Grey, Andrew Randall from Tsunami, Cheryl Gurner from Bathrooms International, Matt Thomas from John Lewis, Paul Rowland from CP Hart and Simon Taylor have completed the first stage of judging, going through hundreds of entries to draw up a shortlist for each of the 14 categories, including kitchen and bathroom designs for residential projects as well as Awards for Master Retailer and Showroom of the Year.
“Getting judges of this calibre and experience in a room to talk about design and business is one of the best things I get to do in my job,” said Andrew Davies, editor of kbbreview. “This year was no exception and the standard of entries was, as always, incredibly high.
“This is the most comprehensive judging process in any kitchen and bathroom awards and we’re extremely proud of that. It’s always a shame that we have to pick only a handful to be finalists, but those who are on that list should feel incredibly proud, and those who didn’t make it shouldn’t be disheartened, many of them came very close. It came to the majority vote in most categories.”
The second stage of judging will now begin with the business judges visiting all the shortlisted retailers’ showrooms. In the design categories, the finalists will present their projects to the panel of judges at RIBA headquarters next month.
The winners will be announced at the gala kbbreview Industry Awards event on 16th May at the ExCeL London. This glamorous, black-tie event is the most prestigious date in the kitchen and bathroom calendar, with guests being part of the excitement as the awards are announced.
Anyone can book individual seats or tables of 10 but get your name down quickly as spaces are going fast. For more details visit www.kbbreview.com, email annaliddle@taylistmedia.com or call 020 8515 2113.
