The support team at Huntley Residential care home in Worthing, West Sussex, has been recognised for their dedication at the recent ceremony held by the Caring Homes Group, ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards 2010’.
Team Huntley, as they are affectionately known, won the award for Support Team of the Year, as a result of the huge amount of effort they put into their work, and the compassionate, friendly and understanding way they treat Huntley residents.
Lisa Ford, care home manager, says: “I am very pleased for my team, as they certainly deserve this award. Everyone in the team appreciates the award as our service users and the other professionals we work with have nominated us, and we feel that this acknowledges the positive impact we have had on the service users.
“It is great for the team to receive this recognition, and a real morale boost. We aim to be a positive, enabling force that supports service users and their families, encouraging them to achieve more.”
The Caring Homes Group, the UK’s largest independently owned care home group, introduced the ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards’ to recognise excellent service, commitment and dedication of the company’s unsung heroes, across all spectrums of care. Nominations were received from all the Caring Homes Group’s brands; Caring Homes, Consensus, Curate and Cheshire House.
Held at the Radisson Hotel in Stanstead, Essex, the ceremony was hosted by the hilarious and outrageous act ‘ 4 Poofs and a Piano’, who are best known as the house band on BBC One’s incredibly popular ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’. Over 250 members of staff from the Caring Homes Group attended the evening, which also included a delicious three-course meal. A raffle was held to support those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
Emma Charlton, Group Marketing Director, says: “I would like to congratulate Team Huntley on their award, it is a real achievement and they should be very proud of themselves and the important work that they do at the Huntley residential care home.
“Our staff work so hard throughout the year, and truly do deserve to be rewarded for their dedication. The awards evening acknowledged and celebrated the role of each and every member, and their outstanding contribution, effort and achievements.“
