AM Labels - DLF-220S digital label finisher

AM Labels Limited to Showcase New Technology at the Food & Drink Expo 2023

AM Labels Limited (AM Labels), an award-winning supplier of complete labelling solutions including manufacturing and warehouse automation, robotics, barcoding and RFID systems, is exhibiting at the Food & Drink Expo from 24th to 26th April 2023, on stand R278. The company will be showcasing a range of technology that can support businesses operating in the food and drink industry, including demonstrating the DLF-220S digital label finisher with the Epson C6500 colour label printer inline.

Taking place at the NEC in Birmingham, the Food & Drink Expo will run alongside Foodex Manufacturing Solutions, the National Convenience Show and the Farm Shop & Deli Show. The exhibition brings together a wide range of industry professionals from sectors including grocery, wholesale, retail, catering, foodservice and manufacturing, where they will have the opportunity to experience the very latest products and innovations to help improve and streamline their business.

On the AM Labels stand, the company will be demonstrating the DLF-220S digital label finisher with the Epson C6500 colour label printer inline for the first time. The easy-to-operate DLF-220S is designed for desktop use and can accommodate label material with a width of up to 220 mm. When used inline with the Epson C6500, the colour label printer and digital label finisher can print high quality, vibrant labels, in addition to laminating, cutting, slitting and rewinding in one simple operation.

The digital label finisher benefits from ultra-precise cutting abilities, meaning users can produce full-bleed labels without the need for expensive dies. In addition to converting uncut, continuous-printed media into fully-finished labels, the compact DLF-220S enables users to cut labels of any shape and size. Furthermore, cut profiles can be modified as often as required, providing added flexibility and versatility.

When used with the 1200 dpi Epson C6500 colour label printer inline, the DLF-220S can print and finish labels to an extremely high quality, creating professional looking results. Users can print labels of up to eight inches in width, with the added benefit of laminating the labels to provide a protective coating for increased durability, as well as increased scratch and scuff resistance.

Regulations concerning the way in which food is packaged and labelled are a key concern for companies in the industry, particularly since the introduction of legislation including Natasha’s Law in 2021 and more recent changes to mandatory calorie labelling in 2022. AM Labels offers a range of solutions to support businesses in creating high quality food and drink labels that are fully compliant with existing legislation, from entry level desktop printers to heavy duty industrial models. The company will be demonstrating a variety of these models on its stand during the Food & Drink Expo, including the Epson C4000 Series, the Epson C7500, the Afinia L801 and the DTM LX610e.

The DTM LX610e colour label printer benefits from a built-in, digital die-cutting mechanism, enabling users to print and cut labels in one operation. Businesses can import their design and select from a range of cut formats, from standard die-cuts such as squares, circles or rectangles, to a custom cut that will automatically follow the outline of the chosen artwork

AM Labels will also be demonstrating the SATO FX3-LX standalone label printer at the Food & Drink Expo, a flexible solution for the production of high quality, three-inch wide labels. In addition to benefiting from a seven-inch, full-colour LCD touch screen and 305 dpi print resolution, the multi-functional FX3-LX offers the option for battery powered operation, meaning it can be employed for handheld and trolley use. Furthermore, the printer has a small footprint and is ideal for environments where space is limited, while also having the ability to calculate and print labels with allergen, calorie, best before and use-by information for individual products and ingredients, based on the printer’s internal product database. Additionally, visitors to AM Labels’ stand will be able to view and trial a selection of linerless label printers that offer a more sustainable labelling solution and can reduce the amount of waste generated during the printing process.

Brendon Bass, Sales and Marketing Manager, AM Labels Limited comments: “We’re thrilled to be exhibiting at the Food & Drink Expo again this year as it provides a fantastic opportunity for us to connect and engage with professionals in the food and drink industry. Visitors to our stand will have the benefit of viewing a wide range of technology from our comprehensive portfolio, and we are particularly looking forward to showcasing a new solution for the very first time.

“Integrating the DLF-220S digital label finisher with the Epson C6500 colour label printer provides an excellent solution for businesses operating in the food and drink industry that are looking to improve their in-house labelling operations, while saving time, maximising productivity and producing consistent, professional results.”
