Good Homes – Pinterest 100: top home trends to try in 2020
Every year, Pinterest analyses all of its data from fellow pinners to try and predict the top trends for the following year. With an array of categories to choose from, Good Homes has put together a run-down of the top home trends to try in 2020. So, if you’re looking to do some decorating and need some inspiration, then be sure to check out this article.
Pinterest is an amazing app where you can create virtual mood boards and pin posts you like to them, making it perfect for when you’re looking for new ideas. One of our favourite up and coming trends is using thrifted home décor instead of buying brand new. Heading to your local charity shop or buying things from second hand websites is such a good way to furnish your home! Re-using and recycling furniture isn’t just cheaper; it’s also far more sustainable. So you can save money and the planet!
Other trends include creating outdoor bar areas and garden rooms. As people look to entertain guests in the home more, whilst also enjoying the outdoors, these two ideas shot up in the rankings for 2020!
Whether you’re updating, renovating or simply looking for some interior ideas, then definitely have a read through this article to help stay on trend during 2020. You can even read the entire Pinterest trends report here for more inspiration.

Here at jmm PR, there’s nothing we love more than having a sneaky glimpse at an interior makeover. Featuring an interview with the homeowner on the inspiration behind their design choices, as well as pictures from before and after the transformation, this article takes us through the entire renovation process.
In this makeover, what started as a bland, dated living area lacking in personality, was transformed into a bright and colourful space complete with smart storage and stylish accessories. The homeowners, a couple with three children, created a space perfect for the entire family to enjoy, with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that brought the dull room to life. The dramatic blue wall perfectly complements the mismatched cushions, gold accents and travel-inspired accessories, with the final result being a grown up, yet cosy, living room that is both spacious and stylish.
Our favourite aspect of the room has to be the perfectly styled storage units that frame each side of the fireplace, which have been accessorised with a bright tasselled lamp, plants and colour coordinated books. Coming in at an overall cost of £15,862, this certainly wasn’t a budget renovation, however it’s clear that the homeowners have created a chic and functional space that they can enjoy for years to come. Whether you’re planning your own living room renovation or are simply on the lookout for some design inspiration, this transformation is bound to make you want to grab a paintbrush and head off to Ikea this weekend!
