Whirlpool announces new structure

As part of its strategic review, Whirlpool UK has announced new organisational changes in an effort to streamline and simplify its operation for the future.

“2009 was a very challenging year and resulted in some changes in the organisation to address the difficulties induced by the economic climate. We are now satisfied that we have the structure to support the future of all our brands in our portfolio with a multi-brand operation,” says Ian Railton Managing Director, Whirlpool UK.

The restructuring involves a number of top level management changes.  Andy Burns becomes Head of Business Unit – Kitchen, who was previously Head of Marketing.   Raj Mistry, formerly Retail Channel Manager, takes up the role as the new Head of Marketing for Whirlpool UK.

Harry Kyriacou joins the team as Head of Business Unit – Retail with a remit for the development and implementation of the retail strategy.  Harry brings a wealth of sales, marketing and business experience with his background in retail distribution channels from his time with Philips.

All three are members of the Management Business Team and report directly into Ian Railton, Managing Director.

Ian concludes: “The new team has been implemented to meet the longer-term business needs, as well as to become highly focused on our core requirements. Internally it will promote quicker decision-making and cross-functional working, and externally positioning us better for the future, and to meet the increasing challenges and demands of the market and our trade partners.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our trade partners and suppliers for their patience and resilience over the last few months, and look forward to re-establishing and developing long-term partnerships for the future.”
