Whirlpool Recognised as Third Most Improved Brand in the UK

Whirlpool has been revealed as the UK’s third most improved brand of 2021, according to the YouGov 2021 Global Best Brand Rankings. Furthermore, Peterborough based Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, the home of Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands, took part in a panel discussion to examine the results during the annual YouGov Best Brands webinar, which was held virtually on Tuesday 16th November 2021.

The YouGov Global Best Brand Rankings are based upon data collected on a daily basis over a 12 month period from the company’s BrandIndex, which analyses the overall brand health of over 2,000 companies in the UK, operating across a variety of industries. The results are calculated by comparing consumer feedback across six categories: Impression, Quality, Value, Satisfaction, Recommend and Reputation. The Best Brand Rankings recognise the top 10 companies with the highest and most improved Index score.

According to YouGov, this increase for Whirlpool was driven by a rise in positive consumer Reputation, Impression and Quality for the brand1. Hotpoint was also recognised as a company that has witnessed improvements in its brand health and was revealed as the UK’s seventh most improved brand in 20211.

To announce and explore the results, YouGov held a virtual conference led by Angela Miller, Head of Account Management at YouGov. Whirlpool UK was part of an exclusive panel of experts during the webinar, sharing its insights on the results and what it believes are the key drivers behind its increase in brand health, such as its commitment to caring for its customers, response to the Covid-19 pandemic and support for sustainability and environmental initiatives.

During the webinar, the panel also explored the key consumer metrics that drove the increase in brand health for the top 10 most improved companies in the UK, including factors such as reputation, recommendation and quality. The strategy and tactics behind these improvements were also analysed, as was the significance of brand health on the overall success of a company, the impact of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdowns, as well as how brands have adapted to both survive and thrive during the pandemic.
