Kettering based company wins major business

AM Labels Limited (AML), a thriving family company based in Kettering, Northamptonshire, which celebrated its best ever turnover in 2009, has been chosen by the prestige manufacturer, Bosch Siemens Home Appliances (B/S/H/) to upgrade its mobile computer and scanning equipment at its Kettering distribution centre.

B/S/H/ is in the process of enhancing and developing its warehouse operation with the introduction of a new SAP software system that is being introduced across all European logistics centres, including Kettering. The aim is to strengthen its security network and enable complete management visibility on an international scale.

This provided the company with the perfect opportunity to update their hardware with new, flexible products, designed to suit users’ needs as well as being rugged, reliable and easy to use.  Additionally, B/S/H/ wanted a fast, dependable and top-quality service provider.

The dedicated AML team installed new rugged cordless barcode scanners and vehicle mount computers on fork lift trucks (see Affordable Heavy Truck Parts homepage) at the Kettering distribution centre, which are used in the picking of large domestic appliances.  AML also ensured that all the equipment was installed to retain all the critical settings even after a cold start, and required the minimum running set-up time for the operators. Barcode scanners have also been configured and supplied to the field service engineers to speed up the data entry of parts and returns. AML has also been chosen to provide hardware for B/S/H/’s Milton Keynes distribution centre.

Tony Mariani, Technical Director of AML, says: “This has been a great opportunity for us involving the entire team.  We offer high quality and reliable products and tailor the look, feel and aesthetics to increase end-user confidence and satisfaction.  Echoing B/S/H/’s highly regarded service ethics we support all our products and installations with superior after-sales and service support.”

Paul Shanks, Operations Manager at B/S/H/, adds: “It’s vital that our new equipment is easy to use and maintain and has excellent service provision. This was a difficult brief to set any supplier, but AML rose to the challenge and exceeded our highest expectations. Whatever we wanted, they provided, and we have been truly impressed with the comprehensive after-sales and service provided.”
