Enjoy the Quiet Life on National Quiet Day

Following reports of increased noise complaints during the Covid-19 pandemic*, on this year’s National Quiet Day, 8th September 2021, everyone is encouraged to take a moment for themselves and enjoy some peace and serenity.

National Quiet Day takes place on the second Wednesday of September each year and encourages people to seek sanctuary in silence. National Quiet Day also raises awareness of the issue that noise has a substantial effect on our wellbeing and mental health. The benefits of quiet come in many forms, from lowering stress levels to unleashing creativity and enhancing your senses and awareness of the world around you.

Whether you go for a peaceful walk in the countryside or turn off your television in favour of playing a board game, capture how you enjoyed some quiet time and encourage others to follow in your footsteps by sharing your experience on social media with the awareness day hashtag #NationalQuietDay. There is also a chance to win a Whirlpool SupremeSilence washing machine, hosted on the official Whirlpool Instagram account (@whirlpool.co.uk) with details of how to enter displayed on the National Quiet Day website.
