Small Bathrooms, Staircase Ideas and 2024 Interior Design Trends

November has been a fantastic month for us at jmm PR. We have been busy planning a webinar on behalf of a client, visiting venues in search of a conference space for next year, and we were lucky enough to attend the wonderful designerati Awards at Wembley Stadium!

In addition to this, we have been keeping up-to-date on the latest homes and interiors news and have been enjoying reading about the upcoming trends for 2024. Keep reading to see our favourite articles that we have read this month…

Real Homes – Designer tips for making more space in a small bathroom

Small bathrooms can be tricky to design but there are actually lots of great ways that you can make the most out of the space you have. This article by Real Homes lists eight tips to make small bathrooms feel a bit larger! The hacks include using vertical space such as floating shelves to store essentials, using door hooks rather than a towel rail and incorporating dual-purpose items such as a mirrored cabinet.

The article also includes some beautiful images of small bathrooms, a few of which are pink (which also helped influence our decision to choose this article as one of our favourites!).

House & Garden – Inspiring staircase ideas for every type of space

A staircase can be so much more than a means to reach the next floor in your home. It can be treated as its very own interior design project and looks great when it flows with the style of your hallway and the upstairs landing. In this article, House & Garden showcases a whopping 48 inspiring staircases, from traditional to modern. House & Garden also shares details on each design, bringing a backstory to some of the individual staircases.

The look that stood out most to us was ‘the hallway of a Victorian house revamped by Ebba Thott’. It’s number 19 in the article and boasts a striking dark coloured banister with over-sized house plants to bring a light and airy edge to the space.

House Beautiful – The new interior design trends: 24 looks for 2024

We love a new year trend here at jmm PR and this article by House Beautiful certainly doesn’t disappoint with 24 of them! ‘Ruffles’ is the first trend that particularly caught our eye. A ruffled edge on a cushion is always a winner for us, so we’re excited to see more of this next year. ‘The one-wall kitchen’ is also a trend that stood out to us. Perfect for small spaces, we think one-wall kitchens are a great use of space and love the idea of using open shelving for a ‘visual break’ and to ‘add an opportunity for decoration’, as the article suggests.

Other trends listed by House Beautiful include illustrated tiles, spa-inspired bathrooms (or ‘spathrooms’!) and window seats. Will you bring any of these trends into your home in 2024?
