House & Garden – How to decorate for spring
We’re not sure about you, but the start of a new season always makes us want to update our homes with brand new, stylish décor. This week, as supermarkets begin to fill with Easter eggs, hot cross buns, tulips and daffodils, we’ve been on the lookout for simple ways to refresh our homes in time for spring. That’s why, when we spotted this article from House & Garden on spring decorating ideas, we just knew it would be featured in our ‘Favourite Articles of the Week’ blog post!
According to the article, “spring is the time to take things off the shelves, dust them down, and see if they might be better friends with objects from other parts of the house”, and we absolutely love this idea. Moving furniture or decorative items you already own into a new area of the house is a great way to transform your home, without having to spend a penny! Colourful rugs, cushions and lamp shades, as well as beautiful fresh flowers and botanical artwork, are just a few of the suggestions included in the article that can help us embrace the new season by injecting a pop of colour. If you have a bit more time on your hands, House & Garden suggests a few different painting projects to update your home, including painting woodwork and skirting boards in a bright colour for a unique and vibrant look, or refreshing your kitchen cupboards with a fresh lick of paint.
As well as offering up ideas for your home, the article also includes spring decorating tips for your garden too. With the hope of lockdown restrictions being relaxed over the coming months, we’re looking forward to entertaining our family and friends in the garden, so what a perfect time to give your outdoor space a fresh new look! We love the idea of using patterned tablecloths, placemats and napkins, paired with colourful plates and glasses, to brighten up our table settings for the new season. Colourful plant pots and antique garden furniture can also help to give your outdoor space a spring refresh!
If you want your home to reflect the upcoming change in season, now is the perfect time to start making simple and easy updates that are sure to brighten up your space for spring. Make sure you check out this article and don’t forget to let us know your favourite spring décor ideas!

House Beautiful – 19 gorgeous Easter decorations to buy for your home
If sprucing up your home for spring isn’t enough, why not adorn it with Easter decorations too?! Here at jmm PR, we’re totally on-board with Easter decorations and love the idea of adding cute accessories to our living spaces to enjoy the occasion. Unlike Christmas, Easter decorations aren’t something we all tend to have waiting for us in the attic or shed. So, if you fancy dressing your home with bunnies, chicks and eggs this April but don’t know where to start, House Beautiful has listed 19 wonderful Easter decorations and where to buy them.
It’s no secret that we are big fans of fairy lights here at jmm PR, so when we saw the LED Pastel Easter Egg Fairy Lights from lights4fun.co.uk, we instantly added them to our shopping lists! The pastel colours of the lights would look perfect in a country kitchen, draped around a curtain pole or cupboard door. They would look really sweet in a child’s bedroom too.
With one of the jmm PR team being the proud mum to two gorgeous bunnies, we love rabbit themed home décor and Easter is the perfect time to get our hands on accessories patterned with our floppy eared friends! The Easter bunny wreath (pictured above) is simple, yet so effective. The article also includes bunny shaped napkin holders, LED Bunny Bunting Lights and a metal hare hanging decoration, perfect for an Easter tree.
Speaking of Easter trees, yes, they are a thing! Somewhat more understated than those we decorate at Christmas time; we love the white twig tree from John Lewis that House Beautiful showcases.
With us all spending our time at home this Easter, why not add a few seasonal decorations to brighten up your rooms? Let us know if you take any inspiration from this article, or if you have any bargain buys to share, just like the bunnies, we’re all ears!
