Spring Décor, Pink Living Rooms and Stunning Sofa Trends

March has been another busy month for us here at jmm PR! In addition to working towards lots of fantastic coverage for our clients, planning an exciting showroom opening event and organising our very own Easter competition (check out our Instagram for more information), we have also been spending lots of time reading about how to update our homes now that spring is finally here.

This week, we’ve put together a round-up of the most inspirational articles we’ve read throughout the month. Our write-up includes blog posts from Pooky Lights and Fresh Design Blog, as well as an article from YourHomeStyle.

Pooky Lights – Seasonal interiors inspiration: 5 simple ways to bring spring into your home

We love to update our homes at the beginning of each new season, particularly at this time of year when the weather (hopefully) starts to improve and we begin to see an array of colours in our gardens once again. In this blog post, Pooky Lights lists five simple ways to introduce spring into your home, including ditching curtains to add lots of natural light into your space, as well as having a good spring clean and switching out darker coloured accessories for stunning seasonal pastel shades such as greens, yellows, blues and pinks.

We were particularly inspired by the idea of planting spring bulbs like daffodils and hyacinths into dishes, cups and bowls. This creates a beautiful, vintage-style look and is perfect for brightening up a space too.

Also in the blog post, Pooky Lights explains how “a bit of rearranging and a few cleverly placed accessories can do wonders to freshen up your home”. One example of a simple way to make a big impact is to accessorise with glass, whether that be mirrors, vases, table lamps or other glassware. When it comes to mirrors, the blog post advises that these should be placed opposite windows for maximum effect. As for other glass accessories, we love the idea of using coloured glass table lamps to brighten up a space and add a touch of spring vibrancy.

We’re feeling so inspired to add some spring touches to our homes after reading this blog post!

YourHomeStyle – Pink living rooms: 24 ideas for a classy and stylish space

When we saw that YourHomeStyle had published an article with 24 (yes 24!) ideas for a pink living room, we instantly knew that this had to be featured in our ‘Favourite Articles of the Month’ blog post. It’s no secret that we adore pink interiors here at jmm PR, so articles that focus on the colour are usually in the running for our favourite feature of the week, and this piece certainly didn’t disappoint.

One idea from the article that stood out to us (and is something we have never considered before) is to paint the ceiling pink. YourHomeStyle explains how this can make a bold style statement while adding warmth to a room. We also love the super glam idea of making jewel tones pop by pairing them with dusky pink, not to mention teaming pink shades with gold metallic accents for an Art Deco inspired look!

Another highlight from the article are the tips on subtly incorporating pink into your home décor without it looking too overpowering. YourHomeStyle suggests opting for a pink sofa for an understated yet sophisticated look, and using this as a focal point in your living room. When paired with warm-toned shades such as burnt orange, this can create a stunning boho feel. We love the Hampstead sofa from Marks & Spencer (pictured above), it looks super comfy and a perfect way to make a statement!

We could go on with more ideas we love from this article, but why not check it out for yourself?

Fresh Design Blog – Tired Of Your Old Sofa? Renew It With These 2023 Seating Trends

Sticking with the sofa theme, when jmm PR’s Steph mentioned that she is considering getting a new sofa to update her living room, it was only natural that we starting scrolling through some ideas! We came across this fantastic blog post from Fresh Design Blog, that shares a list of the hottest sofa trends right now, along with a whole heap of inspiration too.

A new couch is such a significant purchase and, as Fresh Design Blog highlights, it provides structure to the living room. Not only is it a relaxing place where you can unwind and recharge, it’s also a spot where you will likely be entertaining guests, so it’s no wonder that it is important to make sure your sofa works for you and the rest of your space. The blog post outlines the biggest trends in sofa design this year, including sculptural shapes, bold and bright colours, mixed materials and sustainable designs. If you are considering a new couch, it is certainly worth a read!

We’re always looking for ways to make our homes more environmentally friendly here at jmm PR. In this blog post, Fresh Design Blog also shares a helpful list of sustainable materials to look out for when selecting a new sofa, including organic fabrics such as cotton, wool and silk, as well as bamboo, cork and stone.

We also love the idea of ensuring your sofa is as functional as possible. According to the blog post, some multi-functional couches can offer added benefits including turning into a bunk bed, ottoman or coffee table, as well as some that can unzip into two armchairs. These designs would be ideal for living rooms or spare bedrooms with limited space.

Make sure you read the full blog post and don’t forget to let us your thoughts on these sofa trends!
