Whirlpool’s clever accessory makes it easy to use any pot or pan on an induction hob

Whirlpool is renowned for its ingenuity and the new ‘Interface Disc’ accessory will certainly be a great asset for those selling induction hobs! This handy accessory enables any saucepan to be used on an induction hob.

As we all know the induction hob is an amazing appliance with superb eco-credentials – it is the fastest, most energy efficient hob technology available and is the true alternative to a gas hob.  However, true volume sales have yet to come. For some there is still a reluctance to purchase.  This is either down to the initial cost of the appliance, or the realisation that a beloved, and sometimes very special or favourite saucepan is immediately made redundant.

Whirlpool has the answer.  The Whirlpool accessory range includes an ‘Interface Disc’ specially designed to be used with your favourite pan or in fact with any pan on an induction hob.  The clever device is simply placed on the induction zone and the pan on the top; any pan works immediately.  It comes with a detachable silicone handle for placing and removing the disc and it is designed to suit all diameter cookware from 22cm to 28cm.

Juliana Sado, Brand Marketing Manager, Whirlpool, comments:  “The consumer is ‘improving rather than moving’ and this is a great time to have induction hobs on display.  Consumers are increasingly eco-aware with the challenging economic climate and rising energy prices.  They are looking to reduce long-term energy costs by investing in technology, and an induction hob is the perfect appliance investment for the future. However, to overcome any niggles at the point of sale our handy interface disc settles them all!

“Induction cooking is twice as fast as gas and saves up to 40% energy, and above all it is incredibly safe. Additionally it is very versatile and dramatically cuts down on the cleaning too!  Nothing should stop the consumer purchasing one now, not even their favourite pan!”
