Hulcott's new look awarded two star rating

Hulcott Nursing Home, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, has recently been awarded a two star rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). A series of extensive renovations made to the home has helped to increase its rating.

Part of the Caring Homes Group, Hulcott has been given a new, fresh look for spring. A bathroom has been converted into an on-site hairdressers’ salon, giving residents the opportunity to pamper themselves without leaving the security and comfort of the home. The communal areas, including the lounges, dining room and conservatory, have been completely redecorated and refurbished.

Hulcott’s luxurious, yet homely appearance, when combined with the superior standard of care provided by the dedicated team of staff, impressed the CQC so much that it raised the existing rating to a two star.

Marilyn Kimayong, Manager at Hulcott, says: “We are extremely proud to have improved our rating, and feel it is a true reflection of the high standard of care we provide. The staff at Hulcott work incredibly hard and so the CQC’s rating is well deserved.

“The refurbishments at Hulcott have really given the home a new lease of life, and we are all so pleased to work in such a lovely home. The new salon has already become a firm favourite, with residents thoroughly enjoying the chance to ‘visit the hairdressers’ without having to leave the home.”

Hulcott Nursing Home is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide both Nursing and Social Care to adults over 65. The home is conveniently located in an attractive countryside setting and is one of Buckinghamshire’s most prestigious nursing homes.

The staff at Hulcott provide the highest quality of care, always remembering that the home is a resident’s home in every sense, with a friendly atmosphere in which residents can enjoy a very high quality of life. The team recognise that the nursing home must be totally dedicated to providing the very best of care at all times to every resident, recognising individual needs and ensuring that care plans are tailored to meet each individual requirements.

To achieve this aim, Hulcott enjoys a full compliment of highly trained nurses and NVQ trained healthcare assistants who are on hand 24 hours a day. The nursing staff lead the way in providing professional, specialist care which is both flexible and comprehensive.

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England, meaning that its rating is an incredibly important evaluation of the services at Hulcott, and one that cements Caring Homes’ reputation as a provider of high-quality care that promotes dignity and choice.
