After the high of Christmas, the New Year and lots of eating and drinking, it’s no wonder we crash once everything has calmed down. Luckily, Glamour has come up with five easy interior tips that can help brighten your day.

Our favourite tip is the first one, ‘create some cosiness’. The idea is simply to introduce different textures by using soft furnishings such as blankets, cushions and rugs. Good Homes – Interior trends for the living room in 2020

For most of us, the living room is an integral part of the home, a place that’s perfect for relaxing and spending time with loved ones. The start of a new year always leaves us wanting to make some updates within the home, and if you’re growing tired of your dated interiors and want to give your living room a fresh and modern makeover, this article picks out some key trend predictions to watch out for in 2020.

According to Good Homes, some of the biggest upcoming trends for this year include retro curved furniture, bold patterned sofas and distressed walls. Our favourite upcoming trend has to be biophilic design, something that has been taking the interior design industry by storm in recent years. Referring to the idea of reconnecting a room with nature, biophilic design aims to create a calming environment by filling a space with natural colours, patterns and textures, as well as incorporating items such as houseplants, artwork and soft furnishing that evoke a feeling of nature.

Whatever your style may be, there’s truly something in this article to suit us all. So if you’re feeling inspired and want to kick off the year with a living room makeover, make sure you check out Good Homes’ roundup of the top upcoming trends for 2020.
