YourHomeStyle – 11 of the best lockdown DIY projects

There’s no doubt that lockdown has made us find more creative ways to spend our time. Lots of our friends and families have turned their hand to DIY over the past few months and we’ve seen our loved ones come up with some incredible creations… not to mention a few homemade fails! This article from YourHomeStyle gives a great round-up of DIY projects that have been underway during lockdown. From an outdoor cinema to upcycled drawers, this article showcases some of the most ingenious DIY projects that have been going on in the UK.

Our favourite creation in the article has to be the bottle top bar (as seen above). The incredible space for drinks was created using old wood and pallets, and 1,000 bottle tops! It seems a few drinks in the garden has become very popular in the UK with the closure of pubs, as the article also includes a tiki bar and space saving bar! The tiki bar was created using an old bench, with other materials coming to a grand total of £13.99 (what a bargain!). The space saving bar is fixed to a wall and folds out when you want to have a few drinks, which is perfect for impressing family and friends.

What we really love about this article is that is showcases a wide range of DIY projects, from a simple heart accessory made from sticks to a budget kitchen makeover. Although lockdown restrictions are beginning to ease, we’re still far from being back to ‘normal’ so there’s still plenty of reasons to get creative at home and this article is certainly provides some inspiration!

SheerLuxe – Debit/Credit: How to create this luxe bedroom

If you’re a frequent visitor to the SheerLuxe website, then you’ll probably already know about the Debit/Credit features that are posted a couple of times each week. Focusing on a range of topics including fashion, beauty and interiors, the articles explain how to recreate a popular style or trend by providing examples of items with a budget price tag, as well as similar, yet more luxury, variations.

This week’s edition shows us how to recreate a glam and sophisticated bedroom set in a London townhouse. The room achieves a perfect combination of style and comfort, utilising a mixture of calm, neutral colours with an array of textures and materials, creating a glamorous, yet cosy, atmosphere. If you’re a regular reader our Favourite Articles of the Week blog post, then you’ll already know that we’re big fans of bouclé, so it’s unsurprising that the cream bouclé chair is one of our favourite picks from this article! Despite there being a price difference of around £1,000 between the debit and credit versions, we think both options look super stylish, soft and cosy!

The article also features furniture like beds, side tables and footstalls, as well as accessories including candle holders, artwork and lights. What we love most about the feature is that it highlights just how achievable it is to transform a room by making small changes that won’t break the bank. So if you’re on the lookout for ways to give your bedroom a luxurious makeover, this article is perfect for you and is bound to have something to suit your budget!
