Good Homes – How to decorate your home with orange

If you’re a regular reader of our blog, you’ll know that orange isn’t a colour we talk about often. However, with the autumn season upon us and orange being a staple colour of the next couple of months, this article from Good Homes caught our eye. We love seasonal interiors and while we’re coming to terms with the fact that summer is over (can we have one more spell of nice weather, please?!), this article gave us our early autumn style fix!

We love the idea of ‘keeping things tonal for a subtle autumnal look’. The article suggests complementing terracotta shades with mustard and blush pink (we just can’t help ourselves mentioning pink, even in an article about orange!) and we think this mix of colour works wonderfully. We also like the safari-inspired space that Good Homes showcases (pitcured below).

What we’ve learnt from this article is that there are many shades of orange, from terracotta, to rusty, to vibrant. Mixing and matching the many shades of orange with other colours and styles works wonders in creating an autumnal interior design! And if that isn’t enough, here’s a little insight on the colour from the article to leave you with: ‘Orange is proven to be an energising colour, perfect for encouraging you to wake up on those dark autumn mornings’.

House Beautiful – 8 wall art picks for under £35

We all know that hanging art in our homes has numerous advantages, including adding a personalised touch to a space, sprucing up plain walls and helping to create a gorgeous focal point in a room. Gallery walls are a personal favourite of ours here at jmm PR, so it’s no wonder we loved this article from House Beautiful on the top wall art picks for under £35!

There are so many ways to hang art, whether you opt for a statement piece, groups of frames for perfect symmetry, or a gallery wall that combines prints with a mixture of different styles and sizes. Whatever your go-to art hanging method may be, this article features a huge variety of pieces, meaning there will undoubtedly be something that will suit your own personal decorating style. With all of these pieces coming in under £35, this article proves just how easy it is to spruce up your home on a budget.

We love the tree print from Etsy, which combines different shades of blue, green, grey and white to create an abstract yet calming piece. Another favourite of ours is the pink orchard print from Urban Outfitters, which would look great in a bedroom or bathroom to add a feminine and sophisticated touch.

So if you’re looking to transform your home, updating your current artwork, or purchasing some new pieces, can really make all the difference. If you need some inspiration to help you decide which style would most suit your space, then this article is essential reading!
