Good Homes – Sneak preview of George Home’s Christmas collection

Now that November has arrived and our Halloween decorations have been safely packed away until next year, some of us are already starting to plan our homes for the upcoming festive season. If the news of another national lockdown has left you in need of some Christmas cheer, this article from Good Homes is perfect for anyone looking for some festive inspo, providing us with a sneak peek at George Home’s upcoming Christmas homeware collection that’s sure to have you planning a trip to your local ASDA!

George Home is always at the top of its game when it comes to home accessories like bedding, cushions and candles, but how many of us can say that the supermarket brand features in our list of the top places to purchase Christmas décor, homeware and gift wrapping? Well it certainly will be now! George Home’s Christmas collection is separated into four different categories:

  • Velvet luxe – featuring glamorous accessories for anyone looking to add some glitz to their home this Christmas, including gold wrapping paper and bejewelled tree decorations.
  • Frosted novelty – combines white and blush pink to create a modern and stylish look, incorporating a range of novelty baubles including a dancing Santa, electric guitar and a flying pig!
  • Classic contemporary – perfect for lovers of a more classic Christmas colour scheme, this range is filled with products like cushions, stockings and baubles, all of which are in traditional festive colours such as red, gold and green.
  • Eco Christmas – featuring brown wrapping paper and string, as well as a variety of reusable hanging decorations, this range encourages people to be more mindful of the environment throughout Christmas.

At jmm PR, we love looking for ways to become more sustainable at home, so it’s no surprise that the Eco Christmas range caught our eye! We’ll definitely be investing in the paper hanging decorations this festive season, which can be reused year after year.

So, if the latest national lockdown has left you feeling blue, this article is sure to inject some Christmas spirit into your Friday afternoon! Make sure you check it out and don’t forget to let us know which range in the collection is your favourite.

Real Homes – Black bedroom ideas – 9 ways to add depth and drama to your room

When one of the jmm PR team revealed to the rest of us that she used to have a black bedroom, our immediate reaction was ‘really?!’ but after seeing this article from Real Homes, we can totally see why! The article gives nine top tips on how to style a black bedroom, including how to get the right balance by adding in patterns and other pops of colour to soften the dark colour scheme.

We love the idea of mixing metallics into a black bedroom. Gold accents work particularly well on a black backdrop, creating luxurious glamour. If metallics aren’t your thing, you may prefer the idea of adding in some accent colours. A bold throw and some statement cushions are a great way to add a pop of colour into a dark room. Make sure you choose a colour you love because these accents are going to be the focal point of your room.

Our favourite idea from the article is to soften a black bedroom with greys. You will see in the image we have included above that this creates a modern and stylish space. What we love most about the image from Ikea is the black and white artwork on the wall of the bedroom. Every last detail of the room has been carefully considered and we think it makes a stunning impression.

Would you consider a black bedroom? A black colour scheme is a great idea for those who love to sleep in complete darkness. Don’t forget to get some black-out curtains if this is you to create a cosy space to hibernate this winter!
