Good Homes – 8 ideas for making your bathroom a cosy haven

For many of us, life has been a bit stressful since the first Covid-19 lockdown last March, and as we entered 2021 and headed straight back into another lockdown, it’s no surprise that we have been left looking for ways to bring a sense of calm into our lives. As a result, here at jmm PR we’ve been searching for simple updates that can be made around the home to turn it into a cosy safe haven. This article from Good Homes is perfect for anyone looking to transform their bathroom into a tranquil and serene space, ideal for relaxing and pampering yourself while you wait for your favourite spa or salon to reopen.

According to the team at Good Homes, switching your simple fitted bath for a glamorous freestanding alternative is the best way to evoke a relaxing and spa-like atmosphere. Not only this, opting for the right flooring is also key, with vinyl flooring providing a more luxurious feel than tiles which tend to be cold to the touch. As for lighting, switching your bathroom light for a more stylish alternative, such as the stunning Hex Pendant from Davey Lighting (pictured), will help to create an intimate and tranquil ambience.

When it comes to accessorising your space, candles will help to create a cosy atmosphere and a bath bridge provides the perfect solution for storing your glass of wine while you enjoy a bubble bath (as well as keeping it within easy reach of course!). The Good Homes team also advises that natural colours and textures are key for making a room restful and as a result, they suggest using rattan baskets to hide away any dirty laundry, as well as providing a great place to store towels.

Since we can’t go out for a professional pampering session, why not create a spa-like atmosphere in your own home? We’ll certainly be lighting some candles and enjoying a bubble bath after we’ve switched off our laptops for the weekend!

YourHomeStyle – Style Wishlist

We love updating our home accessories as much as we love updating our wardrobes. This is even more prevalent now as we are not getting a chance to go out and wear our party dresses. Also, with the increased time we’re spending at home, it’s only right that we are enjoying our surroundings. A few new accessories here and there are always a great way to spruce up a room and this article from YourHomeStyle has some lovely décor ideas.

Our favourite thing from the article is the ‘Daises Tuft Bath Mat’, which is £29 from Urban Outfitters (pictured above). The daisy design is adorable and the pale blue background is sure to brighten up our winter days. We also love the ‘Sol Ceramic Teapot’ from Oliver Bonas. While it may not quite match our kitchen styles, it is certain to inject some sunshine and paradise into our lives, which is exactly what we all need right now.

We enjoyed browsing this article so much so that we were left wanting more! YourHomeStyle has inspired us to create our own wishlist’s of home décor ideas this weekend (something that should keep us busy for a while). From plants, to prints and the odd ornament or two, we’ll be on the hunt for the best accessories to jazz up our homes.
