Good Homes – Bathroom makeover: A colourful transformation for an out-dated scheme

Here at jmm PR, there’s nothing we love more than having a sneaky peek inside other people’s homes, particularly when the house has undergone a fresh new makeover! In this article, Good Homes takes us on a tour of a renovation that transformed a tired, dated bathroom into a vibrant and modern space.

The bathroom, which was originally two separate rooms, one for the shower and the second for the toilet, were both cramped and old-fashioned. They have been converted into one large area, with an existing window enlarged to bring in as much light as possible. The homeowner, who wanted to add “masses of character and colour”, achieved just that and more, creating a vibrant family bathroom filled with unique furniture and decorative pieces. The freestanding bath and separate shower offer the space a modern and sophisticated feel, while the colourful wallpaper and gold accessories provide a more unique touch, giving the room personality and character.

Any guesses which aspect of the renovation is our favourite? The pink tiles of course! They offer a feminine feel against the dark walls and flooring, and they perfectly complement the vibrant wallpaper too. Coming in at a grand total of £9,801.82, this bathroom makeover certainly wasn’t cheap. However, we love how the homeowner has created a stylish and colourful space with décor and accessories that will certainly stand the test of time.

Don’t forget to let us know which aspect of the makeover is your favourite!

Real Homes – 12 bathroom wallpaper ideas to bring pattern into your smallest room

The Good Homes makeover (above) got us in the mood to search for more bathroom-related articles and we found one from Real Homes that certainly didn’t disappoint! Have you ever thought of using wallpaper in your bathroom? Many people are under the impression that the bathroom is a no-go zone for wallpaper, but this article proves otherwise and showcases 12 ways to bring pattern and style into the room.

Firstly, the article explains how you can get wallpaper that has been specially designed for bathrooms and is more resistant to steam and splashes. Real Homes also explains how you can use normal wallpaper too, provided your bathroom is well ventilated. If you are looking for more tips on the best wallpaper to choose, head to the bottom of the article for a detailed explanation on how to successfully paper your bathroom.

When you feel reassured that wallpapering the bathroom is a good idea, you’ll be taken aback with the wonderful patterns that are included in the article. We must be feeling bold this week because our favourite look from this article is just as vibrant as the bathroom renovation from the Good Homes article (above)! Real Homes says that you can pick bold bathroom wallpaper, no matter how big or small the room is. The leafy green pattern (pictured) has the wow-factor and looks great with the green panelling on the lower half of the wall.

Other ideas in the article include picking a mural for a dramatic bathroom, matching wallpaper to your bath (we love the freestanding yellow bath and matching floral yellow wallpaper, pictured below) and balancing dark wallpaper with lighter floors.
