Earlier this month, we were fortunate enough to attend the kbb 2026 exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham. kbb Birmingham is the UK’s largest trade show for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom sector and is an unmissable opportunity for manufacturers to showcase new products and for retailers to meet with suppliers, network, and see the latest innovations in the industry.
It was the 40th anniversary of the exhibition and there were so many incredible stands, with plenty of on-trend interiors products. We have selected our four stand out trends from the exhibition that caught our eye.
1. Colourful cabinetry

Throughout the exhibition, many stands showcased colourful cabinetry and woodwork which definitely caught our attention, especially this mustard yellow utility cabinet and dusky pink wardrobe space. It was interesting to see such a bold colour i
ncorporated into a utility space, which is usually one of the smallest rooms in a house, to show that these rooms deserve love too! Colourful interiors and creating ‘lived in’ homes are becoming more popular. Experimenting with the layering of different colours, patterns and textures as well as various metallic finishes, are all features of home spaces that we have noticed growing in popularity recently and colourful cabinetry and woodwork is the foundation.
2. Marbled surfaces

Marbled surfaces and worktops have become a staple within modern interiors, and the variety of options are ever growing. Its sleek appearance, versatility in colours and placement make it a winner and firm favourite to help elevate any interior design. Traditionally, when thinking of marbled pieces in the home, tiling would be the first thing to come to mind. Nowadays we see it as worktops and even in this image, as a splashback too. We particularly liked the gold veins running throughout the marble in the image on the left and the seamless blend from the deep drawers all the way to the worktop and wall. It was enlightening to see all the extensive shades and patterns that are now available too.
3. Colourful basins and showers

We were absolutely stunned with the variety of bright and colourful basins and shower fixtures and fittings that were showcased at the exhibition. Many homes choose white bathroom sanitaryware and use metallic brassware and pops of colour in accessories and décor to bring personal taste in. However, colourful basins and showers allow you to be bolder with your personal touches and really bring a sense of individuality to your bathroom. It was refreshing to see and we can safely say that these have made their way onto our own personal vision boards!
4. Smart storage solutions

Smart storage solutions are one of the most sought after elements of any kitchen space, or any living space at all for that matter! At kbb we were surprised by the newest innovations, such as the rotating corner cabinet that completely tucks away when not in use (pictured left). Smart and discrete storage solutions in tall cupboards were also nice to see as they boast practicality but keep the contents hidden.
We had such a great time at kbb Birmingham and with it only once every two years, it is definitely an exhibition not to be missed. We hope to visit again when it returns in 2028.
