Here at jmm PR, we have been scouring the internet for our favourite articles of the week.
This week brings yellow living room ideas as well as a look at John Lewis’ stunning autumn/winter homeware range.

Yellow is the perfect colour for a summery living room look as it effortlessly brightens up a space. Because of this, we loved this article by Livingetc which gives some fun tips on using yellow in your living room.
If you’re put off by the eccentric vividness of yellow, why not try earthier shades? These can be much more sophisticated and toned down compared to the more saturated hues, creating a calmer atmosphere rather than an energetic one. And if you’re looking for something a little brighter but not overpowering, then try using pale yellow shades matched with neutral tones. A retro look can also be achieved by combining brown and yellow, which will bring a 70s feel to the room. This is especially effective with earthy tones.
You can balance out the vibrance of yellow with neutral shades such as grey or black to help soften the mood of the room. This also works by having grey or black as the primary colour of your space and yellow as the secondary colour, which can be achieved by choosing small yellow decorations, having colour blocked walls or painting the woodwork; yellow is a such a lively shade that even tiny pops of it throughout a room will lighten the space up.

Despite the fact that summer is well underway, we love to make sure that we’re always ahead of the trends here at jmm PR, so we’re already on the lookout for upcoming autumn/winter trends for our homes! This article from House Beautiful delves into John Lewis’ autumn/winter homeware collection, and it’s safe to say that the range has left us counting down the days until we can get our hands on these stunning pieces.
The collection, which the article describes as being “packed with crisp neutrals, rich textures and countryside charm for the modern home”, combines a mixture of furniture pieces, accessorises and soft furnishings, providing everything you need to make your home a cosy and tranquil space this autumn/winter.
A large influence in the range is patterns, something we’re big fans of here at jmm PR! With a selection of ornate wallpaper, curtains, bedding and embroidered cushions on offer, the collection is sure to liven up your home and help you make a statement. The Modern Country trend is another key influence in the upcoming collection, with pieces to help you create a welcoming, stylish retreat from modern life. The range is also filled with items that are perfect for creating a peaceful atmosphere to cosy up in during the colder months, such as throws, cushions and bedding.
Unfortunately, the collection won’t be available until September, but it’s never too early to start planning your autumn/winter décor! Our favourite pick is the black bar cart, which is perfect for entertaining family and friends, featuring two open shelves to show off your drink collection. We also love the fact that the range will include pieces to help us update our home office spaces, including affordable desk lamps, comfortable chairs and gorgeous artwork.
If you’re planning your autumn/winter home décor and are on the lookout for some inspiration, this article is a must read. Don’t forget to let us know which item from the collection you’ve got your eye on!
